Association of
Christian Writers

In 2021-22, we celebrated our Jubilee.  Our organisation began nearly 50 years ago with a group of writerly friends and we’re still here. We run competitions and hold events (Writers’ Days) some face-to-face and some on Zoom.  We have an active Facebook Group, our blog More Than Writers and this website.

In addition to our excellent quarterly magazine, Christian Writer, and bi-monthly eNews which is distributed to members, we have created and published a Lent book, a Christmas Anthology  and also Write Well, a writing handbook to celebrate our Jubilee, all with contributions from members.

Our affiliated writers’ groups offer more local support and exciting places to try new writing.  In 2024, we are hoping to restart our annual retreat.  In the past, our retreats, which have been held at Scargill House in Yorkshire and led by our President, Adrian Plass, have always been over-subscribed.

With over over 600 members, and growing, we seek to encourage, inspire and equip Christians in the ever-changing culture of the UK.  The Association of Christian Writers is a dynamic and forward-looking organisation, which seeks every opportunity to support writers both in the UK and Overseas.

We regret that we cannot accept writing submissions on this ACW website.  It is essentially a website which exists to promote Association of Christian Writers and what we do.  We would, however, welcome submissions to the Writing Craft section.  If you are thinking submitting there, please read the Writing Craft section thoroughly first, as we have covered a lot of topics already.
