Pay Entry Fees - Autumn Comp

After a successful spring competition in the genre of non-fiction memoir, the autumn competition will be in the genre short fiction. We are looking for short stories of no more than 1,000 words that begin with the following opening line:

The handwriting was unfamiliar, the postmark smudged. With shaking fingers, she ripped the envelope open and withdrew the single sheet of paper.

Hopefully that intriguing start gets your creative juices flowing!

    • Second:  £15 book token;
    • Third:  £10 book token.
